John (or "Pete" as Anne and I called him) was a wonderful and caring brother who always looked out for both of us. The outpouring of feelings about my brother was comforting. I did not realize how well respected he was and how many lives he touched. Thanks to all for your comments, both written and verbal. My sister and I appreciated all the stories and the kind words. He will be missed.

John, was a great man and I have always enjoyed soliciting his help. Rarely did he not have an answer immediately. If he did not he always got back to you with a solution. He will be greatly missed. My prayers are with the family and his dearest friends.

To John, his family, friends, and colleagues. I was so deeply saddened and shocked to learn of John's untimely passing. He was such a knowledgeable, dedicated, genuine, and caring individual who was an absolute delight to know. No one else could pack a Fall Training School classroom the way that John did. They say that everyone can be replaced, but I don't believe that to be true in John's case! May the good Lord be with you bringing you eternal peace. Patty Couch, Clerk/Treasurer, Village of Skaneateles, NY.

Last September, John and I had a couple glasses of Reisling at the conference in Lake Placid and shared some laughs. There hasn't been a year since I started in 1983 that I didn't need his advice, and he never let me down. John- I will miss you dearly. My sympathies to his family.

Craig, Anne and Rose:
I can't tell you how saddened I am to learn of John's passing. The guy was just so durable I never thought this day would come; plus he was too darn stubborn to die! As bad as I feel, I can't help but smile when I look at this picture. It brings back a flood of memories over the past 30 years. We had so much fun and so many laughs over far too many brews. I'll cherish his friendship forever.

I have known John for many years. Through the many NYCOM fall training schools, I found him to be a delightful person and so unique, one of a kind. A happy thought I remember well is at one of these schools we all celebrated his birthday with a surprise of wearing a mustache when he walked into the room. Rest in Peace my friend!

I knew John for over 28 years. I think the first NYCOM Fall School training session I attended he was the speaker and I saw immediately that this person new his stuff in relation to Labor in municipalities. He gave me advise on several occasions over the years, and he didn't sugar coat it, if the Village was doing something wrong, he let you know. Ironically, the last session I attended this past year John was moderating, sharing his great knowledge on volunteer fire departments.
He was a true gentleman and a great friend of NYS cities and villages. I will surely miss him.

The loss of a friendship that lasted more than thirty years is profound. I am grateful for his constant support. The depth of his expertise will not be replaced. And, I will miss his wonderful impish sense of humor. We tipped back more than a few beers over the years and I will cherish those memories.
