Kathleen and Family:
Ann and I are very sorry to hear of Pete's passing. We were going to try and be there to share our condolences today, but a bad bout of bronchitis keeps me home (Chuck).
We have very fond memories of the times we shared at the University Club, especially our bowling and our Board meetings together. Working with Pete at the Ed Department was a great experience. He taught me a great deal about professionalism and integrity and his dedication to his work was exceptional. He was a true gentleman.
We know how much you will miss him, but you will take comfort in knowing how devoted he was to his family and friends.
Warmest regards,
Chuck and Ann DeVoe

My dad was the best dad there could ever have been. He was selfless, empathetic, understanding, generous beyond words, brilliant yet modest, kind to all. My friends all envied me. He was the first to volunteer to drive my friends to and from everywhere and put up with our giggling and nonsense. When my mom would insist that my sister and I practice piano or do our homework, he would say, "Give them a break, Kathleen." He took care of all of us all of the time, and he took care of my daughters, baby sitting Alissa even as an infant so that I could work. Through the dark hours of my divorce and its aftermath, he was there supporting us and trying to make our lives easier. He was not only a father to me and Eileen, but to my daughters, Alissa and Deanna as well. By the time Samantha was born, Dad was suffering the effects of his failing memory, and though he couldn't quite figure out exactly who she was, he enjoyed her presence, and she was one of the few people in these last years, who made him smile and laugh.
Dad, I will miss you more than I can ever say. I feel your loss with unimaginable intensity. I love you forever and always. I know you walk with Jesus now, and I take great comfort in that.

Dear Kathleen , I was so sorry to hear of Peter's death. As children, and even teen-agers he would visit with Aunt Peg and Uncle France and being my age we always connected. When Tom and I would date, he would often join us and all of our friends loved him,as did we.Even though the years have separated us the memories of Peter will make this world a better place. Sincerely, Margaret Dufresne Cosentino and family.

Grandpa,
You were an outstanding individual. You were intelligent, kind and had the biggest heart anyone could possibly have. You gave me the inspiration and the support I needed as a child to become the adult I am now. You left behind a family who will never forget you; your wife, siblings, daughters and granddaughters.
While Alzheimer’s may have taken away your memory, it never took away your heart. It never took away your compassion, selflessness, laughter and care. It never took away from the pure integrity you possessed that truly made you who you were.
I know now, wherever you are, that you remember every moment in your life that you had forgotten. You understand everything and everyone that came into your life after you were diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I also know that we will meet again and play “Go Fish”; I know that many more times you’ll make me smell horse radish and I’ll plug my nose. Someday, we will collect every State quarter in mint condition. And together, I know we will walk breathtaking beaches and collect endless seashells.
But until then, I will spend the rest of my life aspiring to be just like you.
I love you Grandpa. Rest in peace.<3
