Obituary of Kara A. Kotecki

KARA A. KOTECKI Latham- Kara A. Kotecki, 21 of Latham, passed away suddenly on Sunday March 20, 2011. Born in Albany on February 11, 1990, she was the beloved daughter of Stephen J. Kotecki II of Loudonville and Laurie (Restifo) Kotecki of Latham. She was a graduate of Shaker High School class of 2008 and Hudson Valley Community College with a degree in Criminal Justice degree. She played basketball for the Colonie Youth Center since 3rd grade and also was a member of the JV Basketball team at Shaker High School. She was a counselor for 4 years at the Colonie Youth Center. Kara was currently employed by Lia Infinity in Latham as a receptionist and loved her cats Furball and especially Lucy. Kara had a kind and loving heart and was there for anyone in need and she truly loved spending time with her friends. Survivors include her parents Stephen J. (Patricia) Kotecki II of Loudonville and Laurie A. Kotecki (Fred Ciampi) of Latham, her cherished sister and best friend Courtney Kotecki of Latham, her maternal grandmother Marie Restifo of Latham, Paternal Grandparents Stephen and Virginia "Kip" Kotecki of Loudonville as well as her Uncles: Paul Kotecki of Loudonville and Keith (Laurie) Kotecki of Niskayuna. She was the cousin of P.J., Chris, Brielle and Keith Kotecki Jr., Kara was predeceased by her maternal grandfather Dominick Restifo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 24, 2011 at 9:00 am at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville with Rev. Michael Farano officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Kara's memory to the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center, 43 New Scotland Ave., Albany NY 12208 Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
