MARION A. PATREI
Watervliet- Marion A. Patrei (Julien), 80 of Watervliet, the daughter of William & Bertha (Bauer) Schanz, who along with her husband Richard A. Patrei and brothers William & Joseph, brought her home to the Lord on Thursday, April 28, 2011.
Marion was born in Watervliet on November 12, 1930. She was a 1948 graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy. Marion retired in 1995 from the NYS Dept of Labor.
She was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church in Albany, where she volunteered Saturday Mornings in the thrift shop. She enjoyed playing bridge, golfing and the blessing of many lifelong friendships. Marion brought much light and joy to others in her lifetime. Her unwavering faith & constant love as a daughter, sister, mother and grandmother will never be forgotten. She touched many lives with her kind words and thoughtfulness and was devoted to her family and she will be in their hearts forever.
Marion is survived by her loving children: Frederick (Kathy) Julien of Chicago, Kenneth (Robyn) Julien of Arizona, Thomas (Nancy) Julien of Loudonville, Diane (Jack) Fish of NC & Mary Theresa Julien of Schodack Landing; 11 cherished grandchildren as well as her sisters; Sr. Carolyn Schanz CSJ of Watervliet, Barbara (Donald) Farrell of Latham and her brother John Schanz of Latham.
The family wishes to thank the Carmelite Sisters and the staff of the Teresian House for their tender loving care.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Sunday May 1 from 2-5 PM at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Marion's Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday May 2 at 9:00 am at the Church Of The Blessed Sacrament, 607 Central Ave, Albany. Fr. John Bradley will officiate.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Sister's of St. Joseph of Carondolet, 385 Watervliet Shaker Rd., Latham, NY 12110
Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
