ANN T. CONTINELLI
Latham-Ann T. Continelli, 84 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Basil M. Continelli, died Monday, May 16, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital, in Albany.
Born in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Anthony B. and Anna (D'Agostino) Tomasula. Ann was valedictorian at Hutch Central High School class of 1944 and attended the University of Buffalo. She lived in Guilderland from 1977 until 1985 and has been a Latham resident since 1985. She was employed as a tax consultant for H & R Block from 1975 until 1977. From 1977-1995, Ann worked for the Internal Revenue Service in the Taxpayer Service and Problem Resolution section. She then became self-employed as an enrolled agent tax consultant in Latham. Ann was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. Ann loved reading true crime novels and keeping up with new tax laws. She loved animals, especially her dogs.
Ann was the guiding star for her family and friends. She always gave generously of her time, energy, and enormous strength. Her brilliant mind, unfailing warmth, and generosity of spirit leaves behind a legacy of love that will never be forgotten.
Survivors include her loving children William (Nancy) Continelli, Bernard (Allison) Continelli all of Rensselaer, Tracey Continelli of Latham, Annie Continelli of Medford, MA, her cherished grandchildren Lori Continelli, Jessica Continelli and Jennifer Barbour, her beloved niece Michele Martin who was like a daughter to her, her brother-in-law, James Continelli of Buffalo, sister-in-law Mildred Campbell of Buffalo, her first cousin Michael DiPirro to whom she was very close, as well as her step-great-grandchildren Alex and Max Barbour. She was predeceased by her brother Vincent Tomasula and sister Rose Tomasula Manzella. She is also survived by several nieces, nephew and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday May 19, 2011 at 8:30 am in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday from 4-7 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Interment will be with her husband in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
