CHARLES FREDERICK KING
Latham- Charles F. King, 77 of Latham, entered into eternal life on June 4, 2011 peacefully with his family by his side at St. Mary's Hospital, Troy.
Born, raised and educated in Troy on October 2, 1933, he was the son of the late Charles F. and Catherine (Sheridan) King Sr. It was on June 23, 1956 that Chuck married the former Moira D. Leach, the two shared a blessed union of almost 55 years together prior to his passing. He proudly served in the US Air Force. At one time Chuck was a Deputy Sheriff for Rensselaer County from 1966-1977, he was also an Electrician with General Electric in Schenectady until his retirement in 1994.
He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 669, former member of the Troy Elks Lodge # 141, the Knights of Columbus Council #5644 in Leesburg, FL. and the Latham Circle Square Dance group. Chuck loved woodworking and anything electrical. He was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham
Survivors in addition to his beloved wife Moira include his loving daughter Donna (Jerry) Chorwat of Latham, 2 cherished grandchildren Jamie (George) Chorwat-Eignor and Jaclyn (Sam) Chorwat and great granddaughter Hailey Eignor as well as his in-laws: Brian (Ellen) Leach, Bernard (Arlene) Leach, Vincent (Kathy) Leach, Veronica (Al) Borden, Ann (Don) Gallerie, Margaret (Terry) Fox, Theresa (Dave) Miller & Bob Maxwell and several nieces & nephews.
He is predeceased by his sister Dorie Maxwell and brother William King.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday June 7 from 4-7 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday June 8 at 10:00 am at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Fr. Francis DuBois will officiate.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211 or to St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Rd., Latham, NY 12110
Interment will take place in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
