ENA G. WITTINE
Latham- Ena G. Wittine, 91 of Latham, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 19 at Community Hospice at Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Born on August 19, 1919 in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire England, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Hannah (Frost) Beck. Ena served her country in the WAAF's (Women's Auxiliary Air Force) during WWII. She was stationed with the "Dambusters". Among her other duties she was also assigned to check the petrol tankers when they arrived at the base.
She primarily was a loving and dedicated homemaker who enjoyed painting, doll making and needlework, but at one time did work for awhile at the former State Bank of Albany and later as a temp for the NYS Dept. of Tax & Finance. Her greatest joy was as "Grammie" to her 2 princes, Matthew & Gregory.
Ena is survived by her devoted daughter: Joanne and loving son in law John Razzano of Latham as well as her 2 cherished grandsons: Matthew and Gregory Razzano. She is predeceased by her brother: Cecil (Grace) Beck.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday June 22 from 4-6 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 6:00 pm at the conclusion of the visitation. Fr. John Waldron will officiate
