Obituary of Richard A. Liburdi

Watervliet-Richard A. Liburdi, 58 of Maplewood, beloved husband of Martha Osterhout Liburdi for 35 years, entered into eternal life on Friday July 22, 2011 at his home in Watervliet with his loving family at his side. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Angelo and Antoinette (Medici) Liburdi. He was a graduate of Blue Creek Elementary and Shaker High School class of 1974. He has resided in Maplewood for the last 33 years. Rich was owner of his own hairdressing business in Watervliet for 10 years and also worked at Garden Way in Troy for over 10 years. For over 18 years he was employed part time in the maintenance department of Maplewood School. The last 8 years Rich was a Leak Checker, employed by Philips Electronics in Latham. He loved fishing, camping, gardening and home repair and wonderful times spent with family. Rich was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham. Survivors in addition to his wife Martha, include his cherished children Melanie (Dennis) Hilt of Troy, and son Richard Liburdi of Watervliet. He was the brother of Angelo Liburdi of Watervliet, David Liburdi of Waterford, Robert (Irma) Liburdi, Donald (Debbie) Liburdi and Frank Liburdi all of Watervliet and Mary (Jeff) LaHait of Latham. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday July 26, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. Francis DuBois officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday from 4-7 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
