MICHAEL J. CZECH
Latham- Michael J. Czech, 95 of Latham, beloved husband of Rita M. Morin Czech for over 65 years entered into eternal life on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Born and educated in Cohoes, he was son of the late Philip and Mary (Kosiba) Czech. He served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant from 1942 to 1945 serving in European Theater. He attended Troy Business College and Siena College in Loudonville. Michael was employed as an Auditor for the New York State Audit and Control Department for over 35 years and retired in 1976. A Latham resident since 1963 he and his wife are longtime communicants of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. He was a member of the "Friends of Pruyn House", the AARP and CSEA.
Michael was survived by his loving wife Rita and was predeceased by his dear daughter Lorraine M. Czech Bradley. He is also survived by his cherished grandson Christopher M. Stek of CT., his sister Adelaide Skop of Ballston, nieces Pat Hopper of Burnt Hills, Beth Golovchenko of MA, Carol Quantock of Stillwater and nephew William Catricala of AZ., his cousin Theresa Dickenson of Troy, his sister in law Marie Catricala of AZ., great-niece Sharon (Jeremiah) Meadows, great-nephew Brendan Hopper as well as several other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday September 3, 2011 at 12:00 noon in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Saturday from 10:00 a.m.- 11:30 am at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Entombment will be in Memory's Garden in Colonie.
