ARTHUR W. COOPER
Latham- Arthur W. Cooper, 70 of Latham, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Community Hospice at Hudson Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, in Albany.
Born in Chestertown on September 16, 1940, he was the son of the late Anthony P. and Bernice (Holcome) Cooper. Arthur was married to the former Noo Thawan. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps from 1958-1962 and then served with the Air Force from 1962-1978 where he trained in Avionic Communications Technology. Following his military career he was employed with the US Postal Service in Albany as a Maintenance Supervisor retiring in 1996.
Arthur loved to travel, camp, fish and boat with his family & friends. He was a man who enjoyed life to its fullest and truly enjoyed being around his family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife Noo, he is survived by his loving children: Michael (Katherine) Cooper of Warrensburg, Diana (Jay) Cooper-Willson of Colorado and Anthony (Jamie) Cooper of Colonie; as well as his cherished grandchildren: Michelle Brinkerhoff, Stephen Cooper, Megan & Emma Willson and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother: Jim Cooper of Albany, Sister Joan Dwyer of Indian Lake, NY and several nieces & nephews.
Arthur is predeceased by his sister Antoinette Brown.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Sunday September 18, 2011 from 3-5 PM at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY.
Funeral services will be held Sunday September 18 at 4:30 pm at the funeral home. Rev. Francis DuBois will officiate.
Interment will take place on Monday at 10:00am at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
