Obituary of Berta McCreary

BERTA McCREARY Newtonville- Berta McCreary, 89 of Newtonville, beloved wife of the late Donald A. McCreary, entered into eternal life on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the St. Peter's Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Albany. Born in Ludwigshafen, Germany she was the daughter of the late Paul and the late Magdalena (Bergman) Odenwalder. She was raised and educated in Germany and moved to the United States in the early 1950's. Berta and her late husband resided in Winterhaven, FL for many years and she lived in Newtonville from 1994 until 2008. She enjoyed gardening, nature and especially birds. Her greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her cherished family. Survivors include her loving son Paul S. (Marie) McCreary of Selkirk, cherished granddaughter Alaina McCrery, her sister Elfriede (Richard) Villa of Newtonville, nieces and nephews, Salvatore (Maria) Villa, Joseph (Joann) Villa and Richard (Barbara) Villa as well as several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth DeVivo. Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 1, 2011 at 12:00 noon in the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. John Phillippe officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday from 10:00 am- 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be next to her late husband in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
