DOROTHY M. MCNALLY
Clifton Park- Dorothy M. McNally, 85 of Clifton Park and formerly of Latham, entered into eternal life on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at her home in Clifton Park.
Born in Rolla Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Lee) Day. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Joseph McNally who died in 1993. In her early years Dorothy was employed as a waitress and at a shoe factory. She then was a lunch aide at both the Shaker Junior and Senior High Schools for many years. She was a former member of the Altar-Rosary Society at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. She had lived in Latham for over 27 years prior to moving to Clifton Park 22 years ago. She was a former Brownie Leader and loved bowling, cards, traveling and cruising. Dorothy had a special love of animals and of country music.
Survivors include her loving daughter E. Cheryl (Hal) Avery of Vernon, New Jersey, her dear sister Maxine (Jim) Hart of Rolla Missouri, her cherished grandson Sean Robert Avery, step-grandson Matt Avery and longtime honorary son Kevin O'Brien. She was predeceased by her infant son Robert Joseph McNally Jr., her brothers Jesse (Jay) Day, Morris (Buck) Day, Edward (Eddie) Day, William (Billy) Day and her sister Geneva (Day) Williamson. Dorothy is also survived by several nieces and nephew.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday December 6, 2011 at 11:00 am in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park with Rev. Patrick Butler and Msgr. John Boland of Vernon, NJ concelebrating officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday from 3-7 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY.
