VIRGINIA "GINNY" M. KOPP Loudonville-Virginia M. Kopp of Loudonville, beloved wife of the late Ernst A. Kopp, MD. died peacefully at home on Friday, December 30, 2011 after a brief, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in NYC, she was the daughter of the late H. Preston and Mary D. Morris. She attended Mary Washington College and Barnard College as an English major. Ginny was a devoted mother and grandmother, consummate leader, avid gardener, floral designer, and loyal friend. While devotion to her family ranked utmost in her life, she truly valued her close friendships. In the community, her accomplishments have been many as she was recognized for her outstanding talents and service to others. Ginny's vision allowed any simple idea to become an outstanding success. Among her most cherished achievements are: her appointment to the NY Education Fleischman Commission, Director of The DIME Savings Bank, Chairman of the Garden Club of America Scholarship Committee and past presidencies of the Junior League of Albany and the Fort Orange Garden Club. Ginny was one of the Founders of Saint Gregory's School for Boys, a member of the Maria College Board of Trustees, and notably, the first female Board of Trustee member for Siena College. Especially dear to her heart was her creation of the puppet, Maximillian Mouse, who educated children on her television program, Maximillian Mouse's House, and more recently, in appearances with the younger students at Saint Gregory's. Her love of floral design and advocacy of children found her involved as the Chairman of NY in Bloom at the NYS Museum which benefits the Museum Club. Over the years, Ginny enjoyed involvement with organizations equally important to her: Pruyn House Board, St Peter's Foundation Board and Auxiliary, Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, Northeastern Association for the Blind, and St. Pius X Rosary Society. She was a long time communicant of the Historic Church of St. Mary's in Albany. Survivors include her cherished children Ann (Brian) Kopp Mitchell of Gainesville, Fl, Bill Kopp of Palm Beach, Fl, Dr. John (Susan) Kopp of Loudonville, Susie (Eric) Burnett of Loudonville, her adored grandchildren Madeleine , Will, and Daniel Burnett, Hailey and Paige Kopp and Sam Mitchell. She was the guardian of John, Paul, James, Maureen and Michael Kelly. In addition to her husband Ginny was predeceased by her brother John "Jack" Morris.
