FRANCIS J. RYAN
Latham - Francis J. Ryan, 94 of Latham, beloved husband of the late Eleanor McCafferty Ryan, joined his beloved wife in heaven on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at his home in Latham. Eleanor passed away on January 16, 2012.
Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Frank J. and Charlotte (Evans) Ryan.
He was a Tax Technician, employed by the Internal Revenue Service in Albany for over 37 years until retiring in 1977. Franks was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, an Usher and a member of the Holy Names Society. He was a longtime member of the Colonie Elks Lodge # 2192, the U.S. Civil Service Commission, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, The National Treasury Employees Union Chapter 61. He was a former member of the Latham-Colonie Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his loving daughter Carol (Robert) Thompson, his cherished grandchildren Lori (Jeff) Childs, Kathleen (Timothy) Berger and Dawn Thompson, his adored great-grandchildren Jeffrey Robert Childs and Kara Eleanor Berger all of Clifton Park, his sister in law Helen Ryan of Albany. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by his brother Eugene Ryan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday January 28, 2012 at 10:00 am in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke, officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 4-7 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY.
Entombment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
The family would like to thank the wonderful ladies who were Frank's caregivers for the love and care given to him.
