PHYLLIS M. CONNOR
Latham- Phyllis M. Connor, 82 of Latham, beloved wife of John J. Connor, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Community Hospice at Eddy Village Green, in Cohoes.
Born in Johnson City, NY on May 6, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Beulah (Evans) Martin. Phyllis graduated from Johnson City HS, she then received her Bachelors from Bucknell University and then her Masters from Russell Sage. She was married to John J. Connor in 1951 and the two just shared 60 blessed years together prior to her passing.
Phyllis was a dedicated teacher with the North Colonie Central Schools for 15 years. She was also a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Latham and in the earlier days was a member of the choir and participated in many of their theatre productions. Her favorite pastimes were bridge, knitting reading & travel.
In addition to her beloved husband John; she is survived by her loving children: Robert (Claire) Connor of Chile, David Connor of NV and Nancy (Robert) Munro of FL as well as her 4 cherished grandchildren: Nathan & Natalie, Jason & Jade and great granddaughter Elyse.
The family would like to thank staff at the Eddy Village Green for their care & compassion they showed towards Phyllis.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial gathering on Sunday February 19 from 2-4 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Memorial services will be held Monday at 11:00 am at Calvary United Methodist Church, Belle Avenue, Latham.
