ANNE A. BENOIT
Troy- Anne A. (Snead) Benoit, 85, passed away suddenly, yet peacefully Monday, February 2, 2009 at Stratton VA Medical Center.
Anne was born in Richmond, VA on October 11, 1923. As a young child her family relocated to Schenectady where she graduated with honors from Nott Terrace HS. She was an enlisted private in the Army during WWII where she was decorated with the WWII Victory Medal. She was married to Russell Benoit on August 31, 1951 and relocated to Troy, where they resided until Russell's passing on March 1, 1992.
After being widowed, Anne moved to the St. Jude Apts. in Wynantskill. She enjoyed the company of the seniors who lived in the complex, and the many social events. She was active in their community and enjoyed planning parties, baking and cooking. She also enjoyed politics and campaigned for JFK.
She was an avid reader, loved playing cards, Scrabble and did her crossword puzzles daily. She loved to sew, knit and crochet. Anne was a strong, independent woman who worked outside the home in the business field.
