I first met the dashing Mr.Wegner when he flew through Debey's front door and frantically asked me if I would reconize Yeager if I saw him! He had taken the dog walking and Yeager had gotten loose! The dog made friends with another dog who looked just like him. As Gerard was walking home, the more he looked at Yeager the more he felt he had the wrong dog home! Then I was convinced he had brought the wrong dog! When Deb came home we were laughing so hard it took forever to tell our story! And yes he had the right dog and I immediately fell in love with Debey's Dad. I know he is laughing with the angels!

I'll miss your unique phrases, stories about WW II; and your love and excitement at sport events (it didn't matter what the sport-little league, softball, football or basketball - the kids love having you there!)
You leave behind more then just memories and a loving family, you were a very special man.
Love you Bubba,

I only met Gerry one time at Jared and Esther's wedding. It was a joy to see how much he loved and enjoyed his entire family. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time of sadness. God bless you and bring you peace.

We had the fun opportunity to sit in the stands with Gerry watching his grandson (Jared) and our son play at Arden Little League, and then later at football games at Jesuit High School in Sacramento, CA. Gerry always brought such lively and spirited commentary to every sporting event, and his support of Jared and his teammates in their efforts to achieve athletic success was precious to watch and be a part of. His enthusiasm for life vividly lives on in each one of his family. May God bless and bring peace to you all.

Bubba touched so many lives and was such a special person that my words will fail to capture the joy, love and humor that so clearly defined him. Those of us who knew and loved him can never forget him. I will be eternally grateful to him for the daughter I married and for the support and love he gave all his grand children. The world is clearly safer now he is in the control tower watching over all of us.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Wegner family. We have many happy memories of visits with Gerry at the Taylor house. He was always friendly and welcoming to us and we enjoyed lots of gentle and not-so-gentle ribbing about the Yankees and the Mets. We will miss our friend.
