SHARON ROSE
Latham- Mrs. Sharon (Huck) Rose, 71, ofLatham,NY died June 14, 2013 at the home she shared with her husband in the loving company of her family.
Born in Watertown,NY, January 8, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Mildred Huck.Sharonlived inWatertownuntil 1974, when she moved with her husband Michael and children toPlattsburgh,NYwhere they spent twenty four years raising their two children, Michael Jr. ofLatham,NYand Christopher of Peru, NY. She and her husband moved to the Albany,NYarea in 1999.
She was a homemaker, mother and worked part time for theNew YorkStateTechnicalAssistanceCenter, the SUNY Plattsburgh Federal Credit Union; and for several years as a librarian in the video department atClintonCommunity College.
Her life was centered around her family. She was proud of her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed all of their company with selfless love and devotion.
Pre-deceased by her infant grandson Ryan Christopher Rose, survivors include her husband of 50 years Michael; son Michael Jr., his wife Cheryl and their daughters Hannah and Caroline; son Christopher, his wife Kimberly and their children Jillian and Sean; brother Robert of Camillus, NY, his wife Donna and their children and grandchildren and brother Reginald of Columbia, SC, his wife Andrea and their children and grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law George, his wife Faye and their children and grandchildren and her brother-in-law Robert, his wife Linda and their children and grandchildren and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Sharon was thankful for the many loving and supportive friends who have been so helpful over the past several months. She and her husband Michael were constantly surprised and gratified at how many people were there for them through her valiant fight with cancer.
Calling hours for relatives and friends will be on Thursday, June 20 from 11am to 1pm at the Dufresne and Cavanaugh Funeral Home,149 Old Latham Road,Latham,NY. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 at the funeral home.
In accordance with her wishes her remains will be cremated and interred at Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
