Obituary of John Dennis Coffey

JOHN DENNIS COFFEY Florida- John Dennis Coffey, 59, of Ocala, FL passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014. He was born on September 7, 1954 in Albany, NY to parents Joseph Edward Coffey, Sr. and Elizabeth Marion Hine Coffey. John was preceded in death by his father, his dear aunt, Kathryn Hickey and his sister-in-law Barbara Coffey. He is survived by his fianc Marsha Drabik, son Dennis Coffey, daughters Erin DiFondi, Kelly (Chris) Forsberg, mother Betty Wahrlich, stepfather Don Wahrlich, stepmother Beverly Coffey, brothers Steve Coffey, Joe (Sharon) Coffey and Mike (Marilyn) Coffey. The same sparkle in his eyes can be seen in his grandchildren's: Eva (11), Dalton (10), Ella (6), Thomas (4) and Ryan (1). John also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family and wonderful friends. John was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed by all who loved him. John's love of travel, meeting new people and problem-solving skills led him to work as a Management Consultant for Planned Furniture Promotions. He loved the warm Florida sunshine, his many pets, reading, his Irish ancestry, his Boston Red Sox, Jimmy Buffet, laughing and making others laugh. But most of all, he loved sharing these things with the people he cherished most in his life. John was always eager to lend a helping hand and was true and loyal friend. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Dufresne-Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Road Latham, NY 12110.
