MARY ALVA SCHLOTTER TROY-Mary Alva Schlotter, 97 passed away on Friday June 6th, 2014, at her residence. Born in Cohoes on July 4th, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George H. Murray. She was a beautiful, sassy lady, with lots of wit and class. She had a style all her own and would light up any room she walked into. She had many jobs in her career as an office manager. She even retired twice. The first was from the State of New York after twenty plus years and the second was from the office of Assemblywoman Nettie Mayersohn, just after her 92nd birthday. Mary was an amazing woman who was loved and will be missed by many. She was married to the late Karl J. Schlotter and leaves behind a son, Karl G. Schlotter, two grandchildren, John Schlotter and Sandy Schlotter, and two great grandchildren, Kayliegh Ann Schlotter and Eric M. Schlotter. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Rd, Latham, NY 12110. The viewing will be from 10:00am-12:00pm on Monday June 9, 2014 at the funeral home, directly followed by a service at noon. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Troy. Those wishing to remember Mary Alva in a special way and in lieu of flowers may make a donation in her name to either the National Breast Cancer Foundation or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
