Obituary of Jean Frances Hickey

JEAN F. HICKEY Cohoes- Jean Frances Hickey, 69 of Cohoes, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Ellis Hospital, in Schenectady after a longtime illness. Born in Springfield, Mass on February 4, 1945, she was the daughter of the late John Gerald and Lillian (Bousquet) Healy. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School and the American International College where she received her Bachelor's Degree. Jean was a School Teacher with the North Colonie Central School District most recently as a 2nd Grade Teacher at Blue Creek Elementary, retiring in 2000 after 31 years of dedicated service. She was an active member of the NYS Teachers Union. Jean was an avid painter whose work was displayed at the Clifton Park Senior Center. She was an animal lover and was devoted to her 5 dogs and enjoyed all types birds. She was a marvelous gardener and her yard was beautiful and filled with many blooms. Jean also loved to travel and traveled often with friends. She is survived by her sister: Judith (Donald) Evans of Mesa, AZ, her 4 nieces and 2 nephews and dear friends Pat Dumas and Sylvia Sullivan.
