Loudonville- Michael A. Houlahan of Loudonville passed away on Saturday August 30, 2014 at his home with his loving family at his side. .
Born in Bronx, NY on January 13th 1918, Michael was the son of the late Andrew Houlahan and Catherine (Reilly) Houlahan. Michael was predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret T. Jockel Houlahan on July 21st 2002, after more than 55 cherished years of marriage.
Michael served his country during World War II in the U.S Army Air Corp from March 31st 1943 to March 11th 1946. He was a salesman employed by Norcross Inc in New York City for over 34 years. He then worked for 10 years at the New York State Health Department state worker until retiring.
Survivors include his beloved children Dennis Houlahan of Latham, Karen A. (Fred Samek) Houlahan of Broadalbin, Peggi (Gordon) Grey of Ballston Spa and Kevin F.(Lyn) Houlahan of Latham. Michael also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Jeanine Leone, Katie Houlahan, Allison Leone, Daniel Houlahan, Andrew Houlahan, Evan Grey and Sean Houlahan. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial be celebrated on Thursday September 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville with Rev. James Walsh, pastor officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Road Latham on Wednesday September 3, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 p.m.
Interment with full military honors will take place next to his beloved wife Margaret at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
