Obituary of Mary K. Thero

MARY K. THERO Latham- Mary Kelly Thero, 103, of Eastview Road, entered into eternal rest at the Eddy Village Green in Cohoes on Friday June 12, 2015 after a brief illness. Born in Watervliet on May 1, 1912, she was the daughter of the late James T. and Anna (Nealon) Kelly and wife of the late John J. Thero Sr. Mary was a graduate of Catholic Central High School Class of 1929. Since 1943, she worked as office manager at Rudolphs and Lord & Tann in Troy and at Imperial and Dalls LTD in Schenectady, eventually retiring in 2000 from Hoffman's LTD in Latham. Mary is survived by her loving sons: John J. (Margaret) Thero of West Dennis, MA and James D. (Elizabeth) Thero of Latham and her cherished grandchildren: Susan (William) Johns of Baldwinsville, John F. of Andover, MA, Michael E. of Morristown, NJ, Catherine (Greg) Knight of San Diego, CA, Sheila Hayden of Newton, MA, Daniel J. (Alison) of Fort Collins, CO, Daniel P. of Latham and Allison (James) Riecks of Ormond Beach, FL as well as 10 adored great grandchildren. A special thank you to the staff at Bldg. 19 of the Eddy Village Green in Cohoes for the excellent care she received during her last few months. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday June 15, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday June 16 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Fr. Geoffrey Burke officiating.
