Latham- Mary L. DeFazio, 81 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Joseph R. DeFazio, entered eternal life on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009 at the Rosewood Gardens, in Rensselaer.
Born and educated in Troy, she was daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine (Pasinello) DeLucia. Mary was a seamstress employed by Cluett & Peabody in Troy, she also worked at H.L. Green in Troy for several years during the 1940's. Mary was a Latham resident since 1953. She enjoyed crafts, loved to cook for her cherished family and her worndeful neighbors. She was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her loving daughter Isabelle "Belle" Gorman of Latham, her son-in-law, James Gorman, son-in-law, James (Linda) Rhoads, daughter-in-law, Wendy DeFazio, her cherished grandchildren, James Rhoads, Julie Rhoads, Nicholas DeFazio, Samuel DeFazio, James Gorman, Joseph Gorman and Andrew Gorman and her brother Anthony "Babe" DeLucia of Watervliet. She is also survived by several nieces & nephews. Mary was predeceased by her daughter, Josephine "Jody" Rhoads, son, Nicholas P. DeFazio and brother, Louis DeLucia
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday April 15, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of The Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday from 4-7 pm at The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY.
Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
