Obituary of Hi Joong Lee

Latham- Hi Joong Lee, 70 of Latham, beloved husband of Keun Ha (Yu) Lee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital, in Troy. Born in Jeonju, South Korea on July 3, 1937, he was the son of the late Sung Ho and Yang Nim (Kim) Lee. Hi came to the U.S. at the age of 47 and eventually located to Latham in 1987. He was affiliated with the Korean-Catholic Church in Albany and served as a leader there for several years. He also served as Vice President of the Greater NY Korean Association. Mr. Lee was the Owner of the Ginz Japanese Korean Restaurant in Latham for over 15 years, retiring in 2003. Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving children; Myong Ja Lee of Latham, Ro Yeon (Jennifer) Lee of Pittstown, Gu Yeon Lee of Philadelphia, Mia (Daniel) Strum of Ardsley, & Mimi Lee of Latham. Hi is also survived by his cherished grandson Ro Yeon Isiah Lee, his sister Kaphi Freihofer of East Berne and a dear friend Thomas Mathew of Gardner, MA. Funeral Services will be held on Friday September 14, 2007 at a time to be announced. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd, Latham on Thursday Sept. 13 from 5-7 pm.
