LORRAINE B. SYMANSKI
Latham- Lorraine B. Symanski, 78 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Paul J. Symanski, died Sunday October 7, 2007 at Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's, in Albany with her cherished children at her side.
Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Laurin and Mary Grace (Evensen) Hess.
Lorraine was a 1946 graduate of Watervliet High School and worked for several years at Williams Press in Albany during the 1950s. She was a lifelong Latham resident and lifelong communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham. She was the Past President of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192 Ladies Auxilliary. Lorraine volunteered for many years at the Our Lady of Hope Residence in Latham. She was a member of the Lucky-Strikers bowling league at Latham Bowl. She has wintered for the last 14 years in Zepher Hills Florida. Lorraine enjoyed golf and reading. The biggest joy in her life was being the best Nana to her cherished grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter and best friend M. Kate (Alan) Snyder of Latham, her loving daughter Paula L. Symanski of Schenectady, devoted son James S. (Cathy) Symanski of Greenfield, WI, her sister Grace (Kenneth) Dodge of Clifton Park, and her cherished grandchildren Tia Lauryn Snyder, Kylee Marie Snyder and John Symanski. Lorraine was the proud godmother of Tommy Hayes, Kenny Dodge, Patty Allen, John Steminsky, John Symanski, Suzy Hitchcock,Joe Hitchcock,Michael Allen Jr. and Andy Penn. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Lorraine was predeceased by her Sister Marian Babe Allen and brothers Laurin Hess and Bernard Hess.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 10, 2007 at 11:00 am in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd. Latham from 3-7 p.m. .
Interment Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna.
