THELMA J. LAJEUNESSE
Plattsburgh- Thelma Jane "TJ" Delaney-Buechs Lajeunesse, 79 of Plattsburgh, passed way peacefully with her loving family by her side on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's, in Albany.
Born in Mooers Forks, NY on November 23, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John and Stella (Davison) Delaney. She was raised & educated in the Town of Mooers. At one time she resided in Chazy, NY and Albany for many years, before eventually relocating back to Plattsburgh.
Thelma was married to Donald A. Lajeunesse; the two shared a blessed union of over 42 years of mutual love and devotion. It was also customary every Friday for Don to give her a rose. It was that rose that she referred to as Her Friday Rose.
She was a member of the Mooers United Church & the Plattsburgh Senior Citizens.
Thelma was employed with NY Telephone as a Switchboard Operator; she then accepted a position with the New York State Senate also as a Switchboard operator. It was that position that she retired from after many years of service.
Survivors in addition to her beloved husband Donald include her children; Lynn LaMay of Albany, Gary Buechs and his companion Linda Koniowka of Colonie, Philip C. (Noreen) Lajeunesse of Cropseyville, David A. (Jan) Lajeunesse of Hoosick Falls and Suzanne (Ernie) Busta of Cohoes. She is also survived by her 7 cherished grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, her sister Irene Lamberton of Florida and her brother: Roger J. Delaney of Chazy, NY and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Thelmas wishes there will be no visitation. Inurnment will take place at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville at the convenience of the family.
