FRANCIS A. McGUIRE JR.
Loudonville- Francis A. "Mac" McGuire, Jr., 83 of Loudonville, beloved husband of Kathleen M. Jones McGuire, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 20, 2009 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.
Born in Albany, he was son of the late Francis A. and Alice Agnes (Burns) McGuire Sr.. He was a graduate of Watervliet High School and attended Siena College in Loudonville. Mr.McGuire married the love of his life Kathleen M. Jones at St. Michaels Church in Troy and the two have shared a blessed marriage of over 60 years. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps from July 1943 to May 1946 and was stationed in Okinawa in 1945. He was employed as a salesperson for various trucking companies in the Capital District for many years. He was a Transportation Analyst for the NYS Office of General Services for over 20 years and retired in 1991. Mac has resided in Loudonville since 1984 and was a former member of the Colonie Elks Lodge. He was a longtime communicant of St. Pius X Church and has served as a Eucharistic Minister there for many years.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his cherished children Francis A. McGuire III, Eileen T. (Jeff) Kershaw, Margaret P. (Art) Ambuhl, Daniel M. (Lynn) McGuire, Nancy A. (Khris) Clemens and Ann Marie (John) DuCharme and Patrick J.(Linda) McGuire, his 16 adored grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday April 23, 2009 at 9:00 am in St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville with Rev. Michael Farano officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Interment with military honors will be in Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
