VIKTORS KEIRISS
LATHAM- Viktors Keiriss, 97 of Latham, beloved husband of Jadviga Poikans Keiriss, died Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Eddy-Ford Nursing Home, in Cohoes.
Born and educated in Latvia he was the son of the late Aloizs and Malvina Korsika Keiriss. Viktors was joined in union to the former Jadviga Poikans and the two have shared a blessed union for over 57 years.
Viktors came to the United States in 1950 after residing in Latvia and Germany for many years. He was employed as a Meat Packer for the Tobin Packing Company in Albany for over 20 years and retired in 1973. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham for many years. He enjoyed gardening, caring for his home and his relationships with his neighbors on Eberle Road.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two brothers and two sisters in Latvia and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday December 26, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church 498 Watervliet-Shaker Rd. Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating.
Calling hours are private at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
Donations to Our Lady of the Assumption Church in memory of Viktors would be appreciated.
