PATRICK J. RYAN
LATHAM- Patrick J. Ryan, 79 of Latham, beloved husband of Elizabeth I. Murphy Ryan for 45 years, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.
Born in County Limerick, Ireland, he was the son of the late John and Josephine (Wallace) Ryan.
He was a graduate of CBS High School in Limerick Ireland. As a young man he was in the Local Defense Force in Limerick and later a member of the Royal Air Force in Kent England during the late 1940s. Patrick came to the United States in 1954 and joined the United States Army Forces serving in the 101st airborne division.
He was employed by Tobin Packing Company in Albany for over 35 years as the Data Processing Manager and retired in 1992. After his retirement he worked for the NYS Dept. of Taxation & Finance part time for 8 years. Patrick enjoyed a good round of golf and loved to garden. He was a former member of the A.O.H. in Albany. He was very proud of his Irish heritage and loved to tell a good Irish joke.
Survivors include his beloved wife Elizabeth I. (Murphy) Ryan his two cherished daughters, Kerry P. Ryan of Cohoes and Lisa A. (John) Usher of Delmar, his brother John (Rita) Ryan of County Galway
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Michael Ryan and James Ryan
Funeral Services will be Saturday January 12, 2008 at 9:15 a.m. from the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd. Latham and at 10:00 am at Our Lady Of The Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham where a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Geoffrey Burke, Pastor.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 P.M..
Interment St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
