Obituary of Filomena Bolognino

Latham- Filomena "Phyllis" Bolognino, 80 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Frank D. Bolognino, died Monday, June 2, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospital, in Albany after a courageous battle with cancer. Born and educated in Mechanicville, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Rinaldi) Carriero. She was a graduate of Albany Business College with a business degree. Phyllis was the President , owner and operator of Roma Food Importing in Latham for many years until retiring in 1978. She was an avid bowler with the Strikes & Spares bowling league in Clifton Park. She enjoyed bocci and was a member of the Italian Fraternal Society in Mechanicville. Phyllis was also an avid baseball fan following Major League Baseball. She loved attending all of her grandchildrens sports activities and following their accomplishments as well as helping take care of them when needed. She enjoyed crossword puzzles. Phyllis's was most proud of her children and their families. Survivors include her loving children and spouses Frank (Mary) Bolognino of Loudonville, John (Laura) Bolognino of Gansevoort, Peter (Denise) Bolognino of Albany and Paul (Sheryll) Bolognino of Latham, her dear sisters Kaye Belmonte, Sue Carriero, Josephine McCloud and Nancy Miller all of Mechanicville, her cherished grandchildren Michael Bolognino, Justin Bolognino, Nicole Bolognino, Amanda Bolognino, Dillon Bolognino and Daniel Bolognino. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and was predeceased by her brother, Peter Carriero. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday June 5, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. in St. Ambrose Church 347 Old Loudon Road Latham with Rev. Francis DuBois officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at St. Ambrose Church on Wednesday June 4, 2008 from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
