Obituary of Karen A. Alexander

Born July 27, 1964 in Troy, New York, Karen was the daughter of Frank and Bonnie (Salvato) Esposito. She lived in Watervliet and Oneonta, NY before moving to Woodstock, GA in December, 1995. She was a graduate of Watervliet High School; had received her A.A.S. degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from the State University of New York at Canton, her B.S. degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Albany, and M.S. degree from the State University of New York at Oneonta. Her career in the food & beverage manufacturing and medical device manufacturing industries included employment at DMV International Nutritionals, Inc., Fraser, NY, Cryolife, Inc, Kennesaw, GA, British Standards Institution, Reston, VA, and AppTec Laboratory Services, Marietta, GA. Most recently she had worked as Senior Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs for Rita Medical Systems, Inc. (now Angiodynamics) in Manchester, GA and as Director of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs for Cott Beverages, Inc., Columbus, GA. A career-driven, consummate professional, Karen was happiest when engrossed in her work or surrounded by her beloved cats and dogs.
She is survived by her husband David; her parents, Frank J. and Bonnie Esposito of Menands, NY; two brothers, Frank J. Esposito, his wife Michelle, and son Jacob of Waterford, NY, and Tony, his wife Christine, and their children, Lauren, Nicholas, Lindsey and Justin of Albany, NY; her mother in law, Mrs. George (Mary) Moller of Surfside Beach, SC; her father in law, William J. Alexander (Leona) of Davenport, NY; aunts & uncles, Ann and Roger Thomas of Watervliet and John and Karen Esposito of Ballston Lake, NY, her beloved cousins, and brothers and sisters in law. She is predeceased by her grandmother Anna (Losito) Esposito and her grandfather Frank P. Esposito.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008 in the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Interment will be in St. Patricks Cemetery, Watervliet. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the memorial services.
Karen would have liked that in lieu of flowers or any other expressions of sympathy please adopt a pet in her memory or contribute to a local branch of the Humane Society or Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
