JULIA ANNE MAHANEY
Latham- Julia A. Mahaney, 42, of Latham passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday September 18, 2015 after suffering from ALS.
Born in Kerala, India, Julia was the beloved daughter of Francis Mahaney of Latham and Sharon Mahaney of Porters Corners, and cherished stepdaughter of Barbara Mahaney. Julia was the sister of Brian (Heather) Mahaney, Michael, Peter, Amy Mahaney and Shirley (Fred) English and stepsister of Ann (Thomas) Mulheren and Timothy (Jane) Gardner.
Julia was a cheerful, independent woman who always had a bright smile. She graduated from Shenendehowa High School and Fulton Montgomery College. She was employed with Noteworthy Industries until her illness overtook her. Julia had a deep love for her heritage and for the angels who guided her life. She loved pizza, dance, horse racing and shopping. Without a doubt she is now joining her angels in the palm of God's hand.
Julia began the first six years of her life with the Sisters of St. Joseph Orphanage in India and ended her life with much love and support from our local Sisters of St. Joseph. Our family thanks them for all the concern, prayers and assistance they have given us during this difficult journey.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph, Development Office, 385 Watervliet-Shaker Rd., Latham, NY 12110.
The family wishes to thank the ALS Center, Prince of Peace Church, Community Hospice, and the Springs. A very special thank you to the aides who lovingly cared for Julia, you made a difference in her life.
Per Julia's wishes a private family service was held.
