MARYANNE KIRKER
FLORIDA- On Wednesday Sept. 23 2015, MaryAnne Kirker lost her battle with cancer, she was 74.
Her loving husband of 51 years James and her two sons James Jr and Jeffrey were at her side.
Born in Cohoes on July 13 1940 to Ovide and Ferande (DeSerre) Chioniere. MaryAnne graduated from St. Josephs Elementary of Cohoes, Catholic Central HS in Troy; Class of 1958 and she attended Maria College of Albany
She and her husband became Florida residents in 2003 finally settling in New Smyrna Beach. MaryAnne and her husband loved to travel; cross country to Canada, Mexico, Europe, the Caribbean, St. Martin, Jamaica. Paris, France was her favorite city; and French was a second language. Knowledge and Education were priorities and she took great pride in the academic achievements of her sons and her grandchildren. She herself carried a GPA of 4.0 till a stroke forced an early withdrawal. She loved to journey to NYC for theatre, arts and entertainment. The History channel, PBS, 60 minutes, 20/ 20 and 48 hours, she rarely missed. The Young and the Restless and the Bold and the Beautiful (an admitted weakness) lost one of their greatest fans.
She had a successful career in business and government from Executive Secretary to the President of Graves and Rodgers Liquors and at time of her stroke she was Executive Secretary to the Dir. NYS Budget Division.
MaryAnne is survived by her husband: James J. Kirker 228 Golf Club; Dr. New Smyrna Beach FL, 32168
Two sons: Jeffrey A.Kirker of Rexford and James J. Kirker Jr. of Latham; 5 grandchildren: Marissa, Jennifer, Joseph, Jessica and Kelly Kirker and two brothers: Andre Choiniere of Clifton Park and Edward Choiniere of Troy.
Memorial services will be celebrated on Friday October 30, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Doctors without Borders, 333 7th Avenue, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10001 or to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110
