CHARLES C. WALLARD
Guilderland- Charles C. Wallard, 86, of Guilderland, passed away peacefully on Monday November 2, 2015 at his home.
Born in Schenectady on September 25, 1929, he was the son of the late Clifford P. and Marion (Howard) Wallard. Chuck graduated from Mont Pleasant HS in 1947. Chuck then proudly served in the US Air Force and then went on to Veterans Vocation School which is now known as Hudson Valley Community College, he then received a Bachelors degree from State University of New York. Chuck married the former Marian L. Banden on October 10, 1954 and the two shared a blessed union of over 61 years prior to his passing.
Chuck was a Licensed Claims Adjuster and at one time he was an All-State Insurance Claims Property Unit Manager for 15 years; he then operated a franchise for Snap-On Tools for several years. He was Past President, Assistant Chief and Fire Commissioner at the Midway Fire Department for over 15 years where he also served with the Midway Rescue Squad. He was Past President of the Northville Rotary, Member of the Iroquois Rod & Gun Club and Life Member of Noah Lodge #754 F. & A.M. in Altamont for over 63 years and the American Legion Post #1450. Chuck was also a life member of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192 where he served as Exalted Ruler in 1989-1990 as well as New York State Vice President from 2001-2002.
In addition to his beloved wife Marian; he is survived by his loving son: Charles (Marianne E.) C. Wallard II of Guilderland and his 3 cherished grandchildren: Garrett and Steven Wallard and Kimberly (Tony) Palma adored Great Grandsons: Nicholas and Anthony and several nieces and nephews.
Chuck is predeceased by his daughter: Cheryl L. (Wallard) Barton and his siblings: Anna Mae Ruth, and Peter L. (Beverly) Wallard
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday from 3:00 til 5:00 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham with a memorial service at 5:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Chuck's memory to the Schenectady City Mission, 425 Hamilton St, Schenectady, NY 12305 or St. Jude's Children's Hospital1 Computer Dr. South #104 Albany, NY 12205 would be appreciated.
