MICHAEL JOSEPH MARTIN
Latham-Michael Joseph Martin, 66 of Latham, beloved husband of Susan M. Densmore Martin, entered into eternal life on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at his home in Latham.
Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Eleanor Martin. Michael married the love of his life Susan M. Densmore on October 5, 1971 and the two have shared a beautiful marriage of 44 years. He was a graduate of Keeveny high school in Cohoes. Michael served his country in the Vietnam War in the U.S. Marine Corps from Nov. 25, 1969 until Nov. 24, 1971. After his honorable discharge he served in the reserves until 1975. Michael worked for Allied Signal/Bendix Corp. in Green Island as a Journeyman skilled trader for over 30 years until a tragic accident in November of 1997 causing him to retire in 1998. He and his family resided at 12 Swatling Rd. in Latham from 1977 until 2014. He was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. He was a member of the American Legion Legnard-Curtin Post #927 in Green Island where he was the former financial officer. Michael loved watching western movies and documentaries. He enjoyed helping his family and friends with home projects. He was an avid fan of the Beatles. The greatest joy in his life was the time spent with his family.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving children Billy (Kelly) Martin of Latham and Dave (Lori) Martin of Latham, his cherished grandchildren Abbey Martin, Brady Martin and Chase Martin, his sister Nora Santore of Cohoes and brother Joseph Santore of Latham his loving sister-in-law and brother in law Dee & Tony Mancuso his sister-in-law Judy (Paul) Peterson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday, January 18, 2016 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd. Latham
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd. Latham.
Interment with full military honors will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
Donations to the Autism Society of America Albany Chapter 101 State Street Schenectady, NY 12305 would be appreciated.
