Obituary of Edwin A. Brohm

EDWIN A. BROHM Latham- Edwin A. Brohm, 85 of Latham, passed away peacefully with his wife Dorothy by his side on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Albany on July 3, 1930, he was the son of the late Edwin M. and Elsie (Albert) Brohm. Ed was married to Dorothy E. Alexander on October 30, 1951 and the two shared a blessed union of 64 years prior to his passing. He proudly served in the US Navy during Korean War. Ed was the Manager of the I.T. Department at NY Telephone in Albany for 35 years. He was also a lifetime member and volunteer for the Pioneers of America as well as the Ft. Orange Men's Garden Club, Engineers of America at RPI and volunteer for the Lifeline Link at St. Peter's Hospital. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his loving sons: Edwin G. (Margaret) Brohm of Hopkinton, MA and Robert D. Brohm of New Britian, CT.; 8 cherished grandchildren, 6 adored great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Ed is predeceased by his daughter Mary Ann (Brohm) Meany and his sister: Elizabeth Fritts Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 9:30 - 10:30 am at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham Funeral Services will be celebrated at the funeral home at 10:30 am immediately following the visitation with Rev. Nick TeBordo officiating. Interment will take place in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands. The family would like to thank Ed's friends and staff at the St. Peter's Nursing Home for the love and care and friendship they gave towards Ed.
