JOHN C. LYNCH
Albany-John Charles Lynch, 96, Albany, NY, died Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Loudonville Adult Home in Albany.
He is survived by his three children, Maura Zumwalt, of Blue Springs, MO, Mark Lynch of Albany, NY and Milissa Malloy of Chester, NJ. In addition, he is survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
John was born on March 29, 1919 in Little Rock, AK, to parents Francis and Mary Lynch. He lived in Little Rock until the age of 10 when the family moved to Hot Springs, AK.
He studied engineering at Arkansas A&M and the University of Cincinnati, and worked for the engineering firm of Sanderson & Porter from 1943 until 1978, rising to the position of Manager of Construction.
While working there he made frequent trips to Iran and Saudi Arabia. He also managed projects in Liberia where he lived for nine months and in Brazil where he lived for two years.
In 1978, he joined Reynolds, Smith and Hills, Jacksonville, FL, as Associate Vice President and Head of the Construction Management Department. He retired from that firm in 1989.
In 1946, John married Clara Dzurec of Springdale, PA. Clara died on June 12, 2015. In January of this year, John moved from The Legacy, St. Johns, FL to Albany to be near his son.
