JOZEF CHILINSKI
Latham - Jozef Chilinski,71, beloved husband of Maria A. Pestana Chilinski entered into eternal life on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.
Born in Okrasin, Poland, on August 19, 1944, he was the son of the late Konstanty and Regina (Nieradko) Chilinski. Mr. Chilinski married Maria A. Pestana on May 19, 1968 and they have shared a beautiful marriage of 48 years. He served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from Apr. 6, 1965 to Oct. 4, 1968. Josef was a graduate of Brooklyn College with a Bachelor's degree in accounting. He was employed by the Federal Government as a CPA/Auditor for many years and most recently as an auditor for the Department of Defense in Washington for 2 ½ years. He enjoyed gardening. Jozef was a family man with a deep love for his wife, children and grandchildren.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his daughters: Michelle Chilinski of Troy and Roberta (Timothy) Doremus of Clifton Park, he was Papa Joe to his cherished grandchildren: Katherine Lerz, Nathaniel Doremus and Lydia Doremus, dear brother of Alina Stolarski of Georgia, Anna Lewandowski and Elizabeth Chilinski both of Arizona, Andrew Chilinski and Theresa Chilinski both of Georgia. He is also survived by his nephew Luis Pestana, cousins Halina and Joe Kuzia, dear friends Eduarda Fryer and Gene and Stasia Mierzwa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday May 2, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Pastor Rev. Anthony Barratt officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Jozef's memory to St. Ambrose School, 347 Old Loudon Rd., Latham, NY 12110
Interment will take place in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
