EUGENIA P. MONTAYNE
Latham- Eugenia Haita Percendes Montayne, 90 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Orville Montayne, entered into eternal life Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at St. Peter's Hospital, in Albany.
Born in Watervliet, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Kleoniki Gounaris Haita.
She was educated in Latham and resided in Latham since 1921. She was a Sales Clerk, at Lerners Dept. Store in Latham for over 15 years, until retiring in 1968. Eugenia was a former member of the Boght Fire Co. Ladies Auxilliary. She loved to garden, crochet and embroider. She was an avid bowler at the Latham Bowl and Columbia Bowl and a former bowler with the Colonie Seniors.
Survivors include her cherished children Joanne (William) DeGraff of East Greenbush, Bonni Garvey of South Glens Falls, Cleo M. Whitney of Clifton Park, and Marguerite (Leon) Clairmont of Latham. She was the loving YiaYia of Kathleen Stacey, Billy DeGraff, Bonnisue Neil, Kelly Garvey, Tarah Garvey, Lori Whitney, Susan Whitney and John Clairmont. She was also survived by 8 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband John W. Percendes, her sister, Helen Simatos, brother Vassili Haita and sister in law Sophia Haita.
Funeral Services will be Monday June 22, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Basil's Greek Orthodox Church, River Street & 101 St., Troy.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. The Trisagion prayers will be held on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
Interment will be in St. Basil's Cemetery, Watervliet.
