ANN R. CARVILL
Latham- Ann Regina Carvill, 90 of Latham, beloved wife of John C. Carvill, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Albany Medical Center in Albany.
Born in Albany on February 14, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary M. (Galvin) Dougherty. Ann was married to John C. Carvill on July 2, 1950 and the two shared a blessed union of 66 years prior to her passing.
At one time Ann worked at Albany Felt Company as an instructor and burler. She was then employed for many years at Blue Creek Elementary School in Latham as a cafeteria worker, retiring in the early 90's.
Ann was a nearly 60 year parishioner of St. Ambrose Church in Latham where she also volunteered and was a member of the Young at Heart. She was also a member of the Prime Time Players at Calvary United Methodist Church in Latham.
In addition to her beloved husband; she is survived by her loving son: John W. (Nanci) Carvill of Latham, her cherished grandson: KC Wittman Carvill of Albany and several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
Ann is predeceased by her daughter: Ann M. Carvill Blodgett and her brother: Tommy Dougherty.
We would like to recognize and express appreciation to Ann's niece Elaine St. Pierre for her loving care throughout Ann's life. The family would also like to send a special thank you to the ladies of M&T Helping Hands for their wonderful care over the past year and to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Cardiac Care Unit of Albany Medical Center.
A memorial gathering will take place on Wednesday September 7, 2016 from 4:00-5:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Latham. Memorial services will be celebrated at the funeral home at 5:00 pm immediately following the gathering with Fr. Anthony Barratt officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Ann's memory to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110.
