MARY T. MAZAR
Menands- Mary T. Mazar of Menands and formerly of Longmeadow Mass. for 40 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 21, 2016 at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center in Troy.
Born in Binghamton, NY on December 20, 1917, she was the daughter of Frank and Maria (Mastropietro) Acquaviva She was a graduate of North Senior High School in Binghamton. Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband William S. Mazar Sr. The two shared 53 years of wonderful and adventurous times filled with travel and love prior to Bill's passing in 2004.
Mary enjoyed her happiest years in Longmeadow, Mass. where she enjoyed raising her family in Hillcrest, NY and had a love for her church and community involvement while entertaining friends and family and reminiscing about the wonderful and adventurous years her and Bill spent together. While in the business world she was the office manager for the Jason & Bailey Co. in Binghamton as well as Roger Hebert MD in Springfield, Mass. She enjoyed archery and served as the secretary to the NYS Archers Association and was NYS Champion many times. Mary and Bill truly enjoyed traveling and as a young family they visited many historical sites, broadening the horizons of their children.
She is survived by her loving children: William S. (MaryBeth) Mazar Jr. of Valrico, FL, Annmarie M. (Herbert) Ellis of Menands and Jasper J. Mazar of Albany, five cherished grandchildren: John J. Mazar of Binghamton, Lauren (David) Tedlow of Windham, FL, Kyle R. (Brittany) Mazar of Florida, Kristen M. (Andrew) Alexandre of Florida and Melissa Mazar of Phoenix, AZ., her adored great-granddaughter Kyla Jade Alexandre and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her siblings: Antonio, Pompeo, Chiaro and Stella Acquaviva, Josephine Demars and Stella Chiaro, Aunt Marie and Uncle Jessie Mazar.
Funeral Services will be private at the convenience of the family at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd. Latham, NY.
There will be no public calling hours.
Interment will take place next to beloved husband Bill in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
Donations to the Mohawk-Hudson Humane Society 3 Oakland Ave. Albany, NY 12204 would be appreciated.
