Obituary of Rita M. Czech

RITA M. CZECH Latham- Rita M. Czech of Latham, beloved wife of the late Michael J. Czech, passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 22, 2017 in the comfort of her home. Born March 15, 1919 in Cohoes, Rita was the daughter of the late William J. and Blanche (Riberdy) Morin. Rita married Michael J. Czech on March 3, 1946 and the two shared a blessed union of 65 years prior to his passing in 2011. Rita was an Accounts Examiner with the NYS Labor Department in Albany for 35 years before retiring in 1976. She was a former member of the C.S.E.A and Friends of Pruyn House. She is survived by her grandson: Christopher M. (Emily) Stek of CT, her sister Marie E. Catricala of Arizona as well as her nieces: Elizabeth (Jene) Golovchenko of MA, Carol (Paul) Quantock of Stillwater and Patricia Hopper of Ballston Spa and her nephew: William (Liz) Catricala of AZ and cousins. Rita was predeceased by her beloved daughter Lorraine M. Czech Bradley. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday February 25, 2017 from 8:45-9:45 am at Our Lady of Assumption, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham. Rita's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday, immediately following the visitation in the church with Fr. Geoffrey Burke officiating. Entombment will take place next to her husband in Memory's Garden Cemetery, Colonie.
