Obituary of Dorothy L Heffernan

DOROTHY L. HEFFERNAN Averill Park-Dorothy L. Heffernan, 85 of Averill Park, beloved wife of the late John A. Heffernan, entered into eternal life Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Born in Waterbury, CT on June 24, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and the late Dora (Porter) Klein. Dorothy worked as a Nurse's Aide, for many years at various capital region adult health facilities. She and her family resided in Watervliet for many years and she has lived in Sand Lake for over 20 years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and matriarch to her family and fondly known as "Mom" to many. Survivors include her loving children Rollin Way, Dorothy Blow, Barbara Wells, Jane Lacosse, Deborah Herrington, John Heffernan, Paul Heffernan, Alison Maloney, Mark Heffernan and Annamae Williams. She was predeceased by her son, Lester Way and daughter Alice Heffernan. Dorothy is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews.
