Obituary of Dominick A. Pinho

DOMINICK A. PINHO Wynantskill - Dominick A. Pinho, 73 of Wynantskill, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Troy on June 28, 1936, he was the son of the late Dominick A. Sr. and Catherine (Cavalotti) Pinho. He was married to the former Shirley A. Patalino on May 15, 1955 and the two shared a blessed union of over 52 years, prior to her passing on August 18, 2007. At one time Dom owned a gas station in Albany, he then joined the Local 452 of Mason's & Bricklayers. Following his retirement he was the caretaker at St. Michael the Archangel Church in North Greenbush. Dom truly enjoyed traveling with his beloved Shirley; he also loved gardening, all things mechanical and had a love of animals especially with his longtime companion Heather. He is survived by his loving children: Wayne (Kim) Pinho of Barrington NH, Mark (Patti) Pinho of Postenkill and Louise "Lorie" Pinho of Waterford, his 2 cherished grandsons Jonathan & Brandon Pinho as well as his two sisters: Delores (George) Whited of Latham and Elizabeth (David) Nichols-Bowden of Troy and several nieces and nephews. Dom is predeceased by his brother Eugene "Dino" Pinho. Relatives and friends are invited to call Saturday July 18 from 9:00-11:00 am at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at the funeral home immediately following the visitation with Rev. James Mackey officiating. Interment will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watervliet. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in memory of Dom to the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center or to Stillpoint Retreat Center 20 Stillpoint Rd., Mechanicville NY 12118 in Mechanicville.
