LOUISA M. POSTULKA
Loudonville- Louisa M. Postulka, 78 of Loudonville, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Thursday, June 1, 2017.
Born in Sharon, MA on August 31, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Norman B. and Hildur M. (Magnussen) Gardner. She was a graduate of Sharon High School. Louisa was married to Richard D. Postulka Sr. on November 30, 1957 and the two had shared a blessed union of 56 years prior to his passing on April 24, 2014.
She worked in the insurance industry for 20 years, many of them at DeCesare Agency in Burnt Hills. She also managed Crescent Builders with her husband and in later years worked at BOCES in the library.
Louisa loved gardening and reading as well as quilting, but most of all she truly loved her family, especially her grandchildren who were the center of her life.
She is survived by her loving children: Laura (Ric) Lucia of Princetown, NY, Richard (Diane) Postulka Jr. of Ballston Spa, Kathleen (Charles) Lucia of Mechanicville and Eleanor (Geoff) Postulka-Butzine of Phoenix, AZ and Abu Dhabi as well as her 9 cherished grandchildren: Bill, Brandon and Jessica Lucia, Rick Postulka III, Tom and Jacklyn Postulka, Beth (Nate) Lucia-Smith, Mark and Brian Lucia and her adored Great Grandson: Richard D. Postulka IV.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday June 5, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Louisa's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday June 6 at 10:00 am at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville with Fr. Steve Matthews officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 1 Computer Dr. S. #104, Albany, NY 12208.
Interment will take place next to her beloved husband Richard in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Latham.
