Ruth was more than a co-worker; she was a cherished friend who imprinted indelibly on all our hearts. Her humor, kindness, and selflessness radiated to those around her. Patiently training us for countless functions, we flourished under her guidance. Our morning rides and shared tasks nurtured trust into a robust friendship that extended to my family not least through joy in her yearly Easter candy. Ruth’s tremendous spirit will forever be missed, yet I find comfort knowing that one day we shall meet again.

Whenever we Tashjians reflect on our childhood we use the words wonderful and magical. After all, we grew up in a neighborhood with a baseball field painted on the street. We played kick the can and hide and seek. We had neighborhood water fights and backyard carnivals. We spent our summer nights watching Star Trek, playing Sardines, or watching a late night meteor shower. Every 4th of July we were treated to a brilliant fireworks show complete with a grand finale that would never disappoint. No surprise that every one of these events centered around the Ganser residence. We can never thank you enough.
As I speak on behalf of Lee, Jack, Holly, Mark, and myself, rest assured that you always have and always will be remembered with a smile. And it is with nothing less than pure joy and sincere gratitude that we celebrate your life and your long awaited reunion with Oscar and Our Heavenly Father.

I loved Ruth Ganser. We were best friends for over 40 years, 25 working at the Colonie Elks and then for another 20, though separated by distance She was one of the best and strongest women I have been lucky enough to know. Ruth was proudly sharp of mind to the end and continued to have a wonderful gift for giving comfort to others. I have been so impressed watching the wonderful care Don and Donna have given their mother, particularly over these last few years. She loved them absolutely and they did not fail her ever. I know they will miss her terribly. As will I and many others. My sympathies to all.
