Obituary of Ruth E. Ganser
RUTH E. GANSER
Latham-Ruth E. Ganser, 93 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Oscar E. Ganser Jr., entered into eternal life on her birthday Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Pathways Nursing Center, in Niskayuna.
Born in Nassau, NY on May 27, 1925, she was the daughter of Frederick and Elsie Hildreth Laier.Ruth worked as a waitress at the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192 for over 25 years until her retirement. She was a longtime communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham. Ruth loved vacationing for many years in Florida with her longtime friend and sister-in-law the late Loretta Phelan. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and had a deep love of her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children Donald (Kathy) Ganser of Latham and Donna (Barry) Monshower of Clifton Park. She was the adored Nana of Scott Ganser, Nicole (Michael) Yates, Mandy Ganser and Jennifer Dillon. She was pre-deceased by her sisters Evelyn Smith and Dorothy Griffin. Ruth is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Ruth’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday May 31, 2018 at 10:00 am in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. Brian Kelly officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Interment will be next to her beloved husband Oscar in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
