Jim Danton was a great human being. Everyone liked Jim Danton. He was kind, friendly and really cared about others. Jim was easy going and took things in stride. He loved his family and spoke of them often. He was an exceptional basketball player at every level he played. I remember him scoring 44 points in high school and watching him play in summer leagues. He was awesome. I had a chance to play with him in the over 50 CSBL League. Jim had 150 friends and we all respected his friendship and loyalty. I will miss Jim. One of the nicest people I have ever met.

Chris and I were shocked and saddened to hear of Jimmy's passing. We have so many memories of great times at the Danton house when we were in our teens. The class of '71 certainly knew how to have a good time together! And of course, we were privileged to witness Jim's amazing athletic prowess on the basketball court. He was such a natural athlete, and excelled in every sport he played. Liisa, you and Jim have a beautiful family, and we are so sorry for the loss of a life that ended too soon. Our thoughts and condolences are with you and the entire family during this terribly difficult time. We wish we could have been there for the services, but we are out of town.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Danton family. I worked with Jim at the Town of Colonie and he was the best boss I ever had and even a better friend. I am glad we got together for lunch when I was last in town in 2017 and I was able to thank him for all he did for me. My heartfelt sorrow for your loss.

I had the joy and honor of being Co-Captains with Jimmy at Mohonasen where we played football
and basketball together from 8th grade through graduation. He was a great player and even a better guy.
Upon high school graduation we headed to Florida in his Ford Maverick. He taught me to drive a standard. I almost killed us several times, but we had a ball.
I was so hoping to reconnect at our 50th.
A star on the court and field, he now resides in the heavens. God speed old friend.
