I feel very blessed any lucky to have met Joyce. Words could never express the way I feel today, Joyce has been and always will be a great pillar that supports my stairway to the stars. Joyce will live forever in my thoughts and my heart. It is really a sad moment for me.
The Angels have come and taken my friend where she will now watch over all of us as we had tried to watch over her. I will miss my dear new friend, but know she is at peace now with God.

I was transferred to the Ogdensburg Social Security for a year in 1986. I will always remember how very sweet Joyce was. I am so lucky to have had a chance to meet her. I was expecting my second child while I worked there, and Joyce and some of the girls at work had a baby shower for me. I have such fond memories of living and working in Ogdensburg, and meeting Joyce is one of the reasons it was so special.

Ted and family, My thoughts and prayers are with you. I only know of Joyce through her friend Becky Arlen. Becky spoke highly of Joyce before her struggle with cancer, and of her courageousness and the sense of humor she was able to maintain while ill. Keep alive her spirit through your memories of all the good times.

In the Fall of 1968, I was a student at Canton ATC and had what I'll call an unfortunate room mate situation. Joyce lived on the same floor as my friend Kate and her room mate had recently moved out. Joyce invited me to share her room. That invitation was one of the best things that ever happened to me. We became fast friends and I'm proud to say that friendship has lasted almost 40 years.
The best thing about living with Joyce was that she was always nice, and extrememly cheerful in the morning, even when her room mate was grumpy. She was even nice when I had spent the night barfing with my head in the wastebasket. She teased me about that for many years.
Joyce's friendship was so comfortable that even after not seeing her for several years, we could connect as if we'd just chatted yesterday. She was the one who taught me that years of 'friendship-neglect' could be erased with a single hug.
We shared many good times and lots and lots of laughs. Joyce was one of the kindest people I have ever known. I'm fortunate to have known her and her wonderful husband. Lots of love to you, Ted, and Justin, Jill and your families.

Ted, I was so sorry to hear that Joyce had died. I've known her since we were in kindergarten together! Who would have guessed that such a sweet, soft spoken person would be so strong! Her quiet, gentle strength is what I always think of when I think of Joyce. That and the fact that Joyce and Ted are always said in the same sentence ever since high school-watching the two of you walk down the hall together. I know you were a great source of her strength and comfort. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your children and grandson at this time of loss. I know Joyce will always be in your heart and in your daughter and son and baby - she's really not gone, just gone ahead. God bless you and your family. Marilyn

When our family would go back to New York for summer vacations, our favorite part was going to Ogdensburg to Aunt Joyce and Uncle Teds house! Joyce was a new friend of mine. We met at a Hudson Preserve Social Club gathering. We immediately bonded because of her kindness and loving spirit. As my aunt, Joyce has been there all my life. I have hundreds of fond memories of her, but my favorites are being the flower girl in her wedding and spending time with her & Ted the summer after Jill was born. They always made me feel like such a grownup even when I wasn't one yet. I will miss her, but she will never be far from my thoughts.

Joyce was one of the most beautiful people I have ever known. I am so lucky to have met her over a year ago and to have had the joy of being with her during so many good times: days of walking, afternoons of sitting with Ted and Joyce and Bailey and others while enjoying conversation, warm sun and wine, and evenings of music and laughter. My life has been changed by her warmth, her goodness, and her love of life. But most of all she has taught us all how to live our lives in a meaningful way. Joyce will live forever in our hearts.
